Ed and Ann Wayland
Ed and Ann Wayland moved to the Landings from Davidson, NC almost three years ago to be halfway between their daughter and son’s families. Ann, originally from Seagrove, NC and Ed, originally from Cornelius, NC met at UNC-Charlotte and have been married forty-eight years. They have four grandchildren between the ages of 1 1/2 to 8.
Ann spent most of her career in education and retired from Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools a few years ago. Ed spent most of his career with MAC Tools in sales and management and ten years in Michigan with Roush Industries. He retired a few years ago but continues to work part-time in sales and consulting.
Andy and Cheryl Starr
Andy grew up in a small farm in middle Georgia. He earned a degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He enrolled in the US Navy Flight Program – attained his wings in 1987 and flew single set jets for 10 years. He became a Financial Rep. with Mass Mutual and MML Investors in 1981 where he is still employed.
Cheryl grew up as an army brat and in her early years she lived on a base in Germany. She learned to speak German fluently but admits she does not remember a word. She attended Georgia State University and attained a degree in nursing. She worked as an RN in a doctor’s office in San Diego and when they moved to Savannah she worked as patient surgery nurse for 15 years. Retired now, she enjoys shopping, lunches with friends, and attending movies with them.
Kara relocated to Savannah in November of 2021 when Jon became minister of Skidaway Community Church. An accountant by profession, Kara enjoys traveling, reading, exploring all that our area has to offer. She and Jon have been married for 17 years and share their home with their two sons, William (12) and Nathan (6), and two dogs.
